hello all!
today i just bought a i think hammer? i forgot..something hammer. its like a torch coral/ frogspawn type of thing. its branching as well. it got it for 30 and my LFS threw in a free one that he wasnt sure whether it was frogspawn or what, but it was branching as well. so i just wanted to know what everyone thinnks of my new hammer, or if anyhting looks wrong with it?

That is a nice hammer coral. you cant beat the price.

The hammer looks good in that picture. It might take a day or two before it opens completly. What type of lights are you using?

yep thats a branching hammer. i have one myself. bought it for $35 with 4 heads. it now has 12+ on it!

haha thanks guys...30 is the most expensive at my favorite LFS..so i guess thats a deal..i even think his sps might be 30..or was it 40..anyway i came home from school today and was like WHOA!!! both corals opened up..and igot a okay picture of the free one..maybe someone can help me identify it

If the second picture is the mystery coral then its a frog spawn. Very nice purchased. :)

yup, pink tip frogspawn ... cant beat that price either. i sell frags of that same frogspawn for $8 per head all day long around here.

yeah i am always confused between torch and frogspawn..i always thought the frogspawn needed the like tenticles to branch..but i guess i am wrong ?? cause i see many whose tenticles dont branch like that.....but was told they were frogspawn..but i dont reall care.. i like it anyway

well just thought iwould say that i have concluded the "mystery" coral is a frogspawn, i saw the tentacle thing have a branch like a "y" shape

Anyone know why half of my hammer tentacles dont inflate while the other half is inflated nicely whenever my metal halides go on? It looks really weird. I just put them in recently. I dont know if they are still getting used to the lighting , Im guessing they are. Its jsut weird to see half of tentacles deflated and the other half inflated (it is a non branching hammer)

is part of it getting less light than the other part? or maybe the flow is different on the one side?

im no expert, but my money would be on the flow. because they really do shrink up in moderately high flow

really? my torch LOVE the flow and so does my frog.. and my hammer too hehe euphilia family ROCKS!

or direct flow..have you ever pointed a powerhead somewhat at it..and it shakes a lot like its going to fall off and then shrinks...but i have a small thing of hammer and frogspawn anyways
