Hello all... I have couple of questions.

First I have built my own over flow box and checked it for leaks... Well I have a few small ones... I used a product that said plastic fushion for acrylic on the package. I know everybody said to use Weld On #3 or something but I could not find any at my local stores. Can I fix this problem or do I need to start over?

Second if I can fix it can I continue using the plastic fushion or should I just find some Weld On and smear it over the seams?

If the holes are really small then you can patch them with the acrylic stuff you are talking about or even just silicone. Either way as long as it clogs the hole and won't come unstuck later..

As for using Fusion for the hole project,..I'm not sure. I have never used the stuff. When some glue is ok for patching, it is not always good for bonding.. I bought my weld-on for about $25 and i love the stuff. I would highly recommend it. Like i said though i have never used fusion..

I ordered my glue threw RPlastics. It only took a few days to get here.. I looked locally but i couldn't find any. If you want to order the glue make sure you get 2 applicators. I am still on the first one but i heard you can only use it about 10 times..

To do small patches or seam leaks I rough up the acrylic with some steel wool or scotch bright pads just enough to make it a milky color and not put gouges in it. Then run a bead of silicone I rough it up to give the silicone a good place to adhere to. It’s worked fine for me for years.

Well I found some... For the people in the Detroit area it was at Sting ray bay... Only 4 bucks and comes with the applicator. :) Very good deal.

Rob,

So strange, I never would have thought you were in Michigan. Don't know why, I just assumed elsewhere.
