Be careful with the Sohal. I have heard them referred to as killer tangs by a number of people. If you want more than one clown be sure to add them at the same time. Otherwise you tend to run into agression issues depending on the type of clown they can be quite bad. (The maroon seems to be the most agressive IME.) Finally, be sure the tank is well established with a large pod population before adding a mandarin. Most of them live only on pods and even if you can get one to eat prepared foods they still need the extra boost the pods give them.
Best of luck with the tank. The 180 is a great size to play with.

Be careful with the Sohal. I have heard them referred to as killer tangs by a number of people.I've never had any trouble with Sohal Tangs in the years I've been in the hobby. All Tangs will be aggressive toward other Tangs but I've never experienced an aggressive Sohal. Here's my current Sohal in with 3 Anthias, 2 Blue/Green Chromis, 2 Marine Betas, a Randall's Goby and an Atlantic Pygmy Angel. Plus shrimp, crabs and other clean-up crew.

When you "hear" something from other people, you have to take into account that they may just be repeating something they "heard" from some other person that "heard" it from...well, I think you get the idea. Pretty soon a guppy becomes a shark. :rotfl:

I'll tell you where most agression comes from, HUNGER!!! I've preached it before and I'll keep preaching it until I get kicked off TR. Feed your fish a quality diet and in the quantity they need, not to just survive but to thrive!!! And that's a heap more food than I know most hobbyists feed their fish!

Mine was 4 1/2" when I got him. Now, four months later he's easily 5", maybe a bit more. You will find the answer to your question on WetWebMedia here - Sohal Tang. (http://www.wetwebmedia.com/Asohal.htm)

Unfortunately they were first hand stories, but it always depends on the particular fish, feeding habits, and what the other inhabitants are. Not to mention rockwork and probably a million other factors that make up the likelyhood that the fish will be a good inhabitant of your system.
I have my 2 tangs so I am set and happy just wanted to pass on what friends have experienced. I too "overfeed" my tank and think that is why I rarely if ever have a problem with agression. If the fish is "fat, dumb, and happy" he just doesn't want to fight. :)
