Prices should be about the same for you. Hydor stuff is made in Italy so it really depends on your exhange rate with the Euro.

After all the trouble I have heard about the nano streams. I will have to agree with FW and let everyone else test them out.

I have heard there is a vibration problem because of the magnet mounts. Also the impeller shaft is coming loose.

Just an FYI, I've read that the new Koralia's have a magnetic/suction mount. I would assume that will cut down on the vibration.
But we all know what happens when we assume.

looks very interesting..
i wonder, is the power cord inside or outside, i would imagine in this design it would have to be inside the tank

This is a message to the techical department of the Hydor because I had some questions about that product. The answer was:

Yesterday I bought the Koralia 1 pump and when I plug it I saw the
water flow to come out only of the two holes. Normally the water flow must
come out of the 4 exits, correct?

“Normally the water flow come out of the 4 exits, probably could be more
concentrate in only two, but I can confirm you that the functioning is
perfectly normal.”

Then I put it on in a simple wave maker and I saw that the impeller
came out and hit on to the plastic cover and then insert to the normally
position every time that the wave maker turn on the pump. After that I
heard a little noise. That noise does not appear continuously but only
some times when the wave maker turns on the pump.

“Our patent is the unidirectional start, the impeller come out of the motor and come in in the right sense.
For this reason with a normal wave maker that gives on or off, every
time the pump has to start with that principle. That kind of wave maker could be dangerous also for the fishes, they could come into the chamber impeller when the pump is in off. We are studying a new wave maker for our Koralia, it doesn't come in off directly but decreasing gradually the frequency of the turns of the
impeller. In this way the impeller will be never stopped and the fishes can not
come inside of the chamber impeller.”

After that I unscrew the plastic cover in order to examine the impeller
and I saw that the magnet on the impeller does not had any magnet power
onit ( or better the magnet has a very - very little power).

“I confirm you that the magnet is powered, it seems to have little
power,
but it is enough for that pump.”

Please inform me about these problem as soon as possible.

In a few days some friends of mine will receive Koralia 1 and Koralia 4 and I will inform you if those pups are good or not. I am not sure if my pump is a damaged or not but the answer of the technician does not convinced me:roll: .

One thing to keep in mind is these things are HUGH!
On another message board someone posted a few pics of the KORALIA 4.
Its enormous! :wow: I don't know if I want two grapefruits in my tank.
Also check out Ryan Gripp's review at Reef Builders Blog (http://www.reefbuilders.com/blog/)
He posted some videos too.
I think I might just mod my existing MaxiJets.

Doesn't look much bigger than a Seio 1500. The really low wattage is cool.
