http://www.aquariumpros.ca/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif Should I get aCalcium monitor if I already have a PH Controller
Just wondering if I need both devices or if I have a PH controller would I need a Calcium monitor. Are they the same in any way???

I know I have the PH controller hooked up to the Calcium reactor and if the PH is constans at 8.4 than I would assume that the calcium should be in proper range too. Is this correct in thinking this way???

Thanks for the info

not really, you should monitor calcium with a test kit or a controller (if you want to pay for it)

i haven't used a Ca Reactor so i cant really say much more.. so i will just ^^bump^^ this for others

They are two totally different pieces of equipment as I understand it. Either one can be monitored by test kits or a monitor it just depends on how sophisticated you want to get with your setup. If you are keeping corals you should absolutely monitor your calc in some way.

yes, thanks Lynn, after re-reading my post i see it wasn't very clear..

but your messages was..

you need to monitor moth Ca and PH..
with a Ca reactor you really need a controller for PH.
but with or without a Ca reactor you need to monitor Ca with "something"
