My lfs said it's ok to use these in the SW tanks. And I've heard this from a few other people locally that uses these in their SW tanks as well. Whats the pro and cons of this other than the die off.
Thanks.

Most people put theirs straight from their FW into the SW when they convert. I know the rocks themselves are ok but not porous enough to be very effective Liverocks. Just wondering if there is any other thoughts on these since alot of people really likes the looks of them.

I'm curous since most of these I have seen seems to have some algea left over from the FW days, and some I dont see any signs of it dying off even after being in SW for a period of time.

I have a piece in my sump. It was pure white and sterilized so I don't picture the stuff any other way. It wasn't suppose to be in the sump but oh well... there it is. I haven't noticed any ill effects and it's been there quite some time...... but it's only a small amount.

there's no dieoff because the algae is already dead, assuming the rock has been dry for some time.
the only ways to get rid of the color are to soak the rock in bleach solution or sit it in the sun for awhile.
Renee...i tossed that piece of holey rock into the fuge just to see what it would do... ;)
