My overflow box has a leak that just developed. will silicon harden while wet? If not what can I use that can still get wet and harden?
silicone needs to harden while dry, there maybe some underwater stuff, but its best to disconnect it and let it dry. it really should only take a few hours, or preferably overnight

My little thing of silicone says that it'll prolly end up being toxic if you put it in water when its still not dried. It really only takes a few hours to set, especially if you put a heating fan on it. Smells really nasty, though... do it in your basement or somewhere out of the way.

I am going to do it tomorrow on my day off. I am going to turn off my pump and drain the overflow into a bucket dry everything and begin the surgery.

I will I hate starting and stoping my pump especially when my heater is in my sump. Oh well at least I dont fish in my tank. I am losing water and it's not my overflow box. I think because I don't have enough water in my sump the water is splasing and that might be the reason. I check all over and havent found any other leaks.
