well howdy everyone,

i was recently hovering over on my other forum, and noticed a picture thread on some1s new mandarin. So of course there was a discussion and sometime during that discussion it was said that mandarins preferably live in 3's??

Of course one male and two females, i'm not necesarilly asking if i could do it (2 would be enough for me) but i was just wondering if anyone has heard this and if it is better for the fish.

Thanks

Rob

mandarins can be aggressive, but this generally comes with 2 males.
a male and a female can even get on even be trouble if the tank is too small

that said, with a male and two females, the bigger concern is keeping them fed, more than anything.

i agree Rob, keeping 3 manderins fed will be a challenge. unless you can get them to eat frozen or prepared foods or feed the live mysis or you buy pods just for them to eat, they will devour your pod population in no time.

*superman voice* NOT MY POPULATION@!!

lol, again, two will be enough for my tank, seeing that i my sump and fuges combined will have more volume than my display tank, that should keep two healthy.

Anywho, i was just asking becuase this was advice given to another reefer, and i was intrigued.

Thnx for the responses guys
