hi i've got a female clownfish who likes to go real close to my bubble tip anemone, even sits there and looks at it for a while but she doesn't actually interact with it. is this a form of hosting or is there a way to help them to host ??

no, when they are hosting you will know it..
you can try to lour it in with some brine shrimp in a little dropper..
even add some garlic extract soak to entice them more.. :0
i am 2 for 2 with this method.. :)

I want to know how to keep a clown from hosting a bubble tip. My maroon pestered my red bubble tip till it went to hide behind the rocks and presumed dead. I now have a green that it being chased around the tank by this clown. I may just move it to the other tank no clowns in there. Don't want to lose this one.

not a whole lot you can do here, you really have 2 options..
get a better host for it quick, or seperate/remove them

I don't have any experience with this but I read once that someone had luck by taping a picture of a clown hosting an anemone to the glass with the picture in towards the tank.

I also have heard of people having luck with pictures of hosting clowns. Doesn't really make sense to me but I know of several people who have had it work.

Rob wins! I used a mini turkey baster to put some brine shrimp in/around the anemone and now the clowns think it has an endless supply!! they look for food in it a lot but i caught them just swimming with it so i can tell they are friends now haha.
