In our crazy hobby we deal with chemicals - often times not realizing how dangerous some can be. Pickling Lime (calcium hydroxide or kalkwasser) is one. So doing a safety talk about chemicals can be a possible topic idea. Baking soda is another (sodium bicarbonate) but it's less of a problem if exposed/ingested. I'm drawing a blank to other chemicals at the moment used for our tanks.

I looked into the definition of caustic and it's alarmed me a little because I have a 3 year old running around and though the resevoir containing the limewater mix is in a separate room in a sealed container, there will be a day when they get at it - (unless I do something about it first like padllock or something)

I then went to find some first aid measures... here is a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) link to calclium hydroxide (http://www.carolina.com/labsafety/msds/Calcium%20Hydroxide.pdf).

I've found the best way to get safety information on a chemical from the web is to Google "Material Safety Data Sheet _________" where you enter in the name of the chemical in the blank.

So the topic would be dealing with hobby chemicals - not only exposre but storing them. Just a thought.
