One question, Dr Stancyk said he had some videos of the stars. Can we get some links for these videos? The one where the green star captures the fish would be cool.

Great show. I have a Green Brittle Star that I've had for about a year in my 240. My LFS said that by feeding him once a week or so would keep him happy and a little less predatory. It has worked for them for many years, and it's working for me. He comes out at every feeding, but seems to know when it's his turn to be fed. I hand him a piece of food, and away he goes.

They really are fascinating creatures and it was a joy to learn more about them. Thanks again for another great podcast.

Sorry to bounce this up after awhile, but just heard the podcast. Excellent stuff!

But brittlestars are amazing creatures to have. It is unfortunate that the green brittlestar Ophiarachna incrassata is colorful and hardy, because it does have perhaps the most potential to cause trouble. But if you consider they do not have a "brain" as we know it, then the complex behaviors are, in and of themselves, extraordinary (OK...I know it still cost that $50 fish to observe it :shout: )

No worries on bringing topics up out of "storage". I still see threads on Reef Central, today, that are referring to other reefers JUST listening to the first few shows. That was the whole idea of capturing this information in this medium.
