I was wondering if anyone out there new a site or good tool to help me learn to pronounce Latin or help me understand a little i think i might take it at the Community College over the summer for fun. but im having trouble with some Scientific Names cause they are so much better then common names IMO. any help would be great.
i have not come across a single good resource.
IIRC Eric Bornemans book Aquarium Corals as pronunciation keys in it.

im assuming your refering to latin as in language terms/words, not latin race.

Thanks thoughI'm not sure of any site that will teach you how to pronounce the Latin names. By seeing the Latin names, you can learn to sound them out. That's how I learned to do it. I'm proud of you for seeking out this information. Most people just use the common names and cause much confusion at times. A clasic example is the whole Percula/False Percula thing. That bugs the devil out of me!!! Here are a few of my favorite sites.
CoralRealm - Reef Fish, Sharks, Rays & Invertebrates (http://www.coralrealm.com/homepage.html)
Wetwebmedia, Aquarium, Pond, Marine and Freshwater Fish, reef tanks, and Aquatics Information (http://www.wetwebmedia.com/)
Saltwater and Freshwater Fish Species Library (http://www.dynastymarine.net/library.html)
These should keep you busy and by the way, I want to be the first to congratulate you for taking a higher road in your reefing career. For most, the Latin names are simply too hard to learn when in reality few of us learn many of them by heart. Having the resourcs to find them at your finger-tips and using them is the important thing.
im assuming your refering to latin as in language terms/wordsThanks for that Latin/English link V. That is a handy link to have for things like, piscis/fish. :agree:
