i have a sea clear system 2 tank (built in filter in the back)..and currently have a css125 which is just taking up too much space, so would anyone happen to know if a aqua c remora skimmmer (NOT PRO) would be sufficient for my 50 gallon tank. any or other reccomendations for a smaller but powerful enough skimmer would be great to. it needs to be HOB though. thanks a lot for any help....

I had a Remora on my 75 gallon and it just wasn't working all that well. I now have a CSS 125 and it works so much better. Get about a gallon of crud a week.

well the css 125 isnt working all that great for me...doesnt seem to pull out really thick stuff..but i guess that could be cause i only have corals live rock and a few inverts..but i mainly want the remora cause its smaller

Are you using the CSS as a HOB?

This is just my opinion - but doesn't the amount of gunk you pull out really depend on what you're putting into the tank for feeding the fish/corals? Yes, the efficiency of a protien skimmer comes into play...
Analogy: theres only so much juice that can be sqeezed out of an orange - no matter if using hand juicer or not.

You may have to play with your skimmer pump height if you haven't tried that yet. I use mine in the sump but it took a few tries till I got the water level just right for my skimmer.

Honestly if you have the room spend the money you were going to pay for a Remora on an overflow and sump. Then you won't have to see the skimmer at all. :D
