I was thinking tonight about maybe adding some chaeto to my overflow box. Does this make sence at all? Could it help me or mess everything up?

Let the discussion begin. :)

i have absolutely no experience or expertise, but as long as it doesn't get sucked down and clog your overflows, it sounds like a killer idea!

i would be very cautious with this.
you wouldn't want something clogging your overflow, if you could ensure it didn't i agree great idea.. :)
(in short, i agree with russell :D )

Sorry about the russel, i came back online and you were gone.

yea i thought about that as well. im not sure if im going to try it or not. I just figured that it would look better ( or just cool in general ) and it would be another area to stick chaeto. (which is good)

Thanks for the input, I think im going to look into a net or something. Ill let everyone know :)

Why add to the equation of flow failure? Don't mess with the overflow. There are plenty of places to put chaeto.

My overflow is dark.. would yours get enough light to sustain it?

I'd also agree that overflows tend to get "gunky" (Yes, another scientific term) and we already have problems keeping them clear. Adding what equates to another "catch net" could cause problems.

on my 55gal I used a hang on refugium about 3x5. I made it out of plexiglass and a pair of suction cups. It worked great. I stuck it inside top of the tank.
