Ozone is generally connected to your skimmer to make the skimmer more efficient. It's the safest way to utilize ozone. Ozone is an extremely potent oxidizer and dangerous in high concentrations. If you can smell it in the room you're using it in, it's too high.
yep, i think Amphibious got it there, the most common connection point is the skimmer. i believe that was covered int he ozone podcast, if not i will have to revisit that point

i recomend using a ozone reactor is more efient and safe if you lisent to the podcast it will say the water don't have much contact with the ozone and for a personal experiance you will have some smell of ozone coming from the skimmer sice i change to the reactor i keep my level in a save mark and my water cuality is beter after the reactor was add on to the system
here is a pic of the reactor whend i was building it

yes i remember that the podcast covered that point. that when u hook it to a skimmer there isnt enough contact time. how does the reactor work? is there some kind of media? what about the activated carbon can that go in there or is it on another part of the system?

also i heard that ozone makes ammonia digestable by the skimmer. is this true? if so, how does it work? if aquarist's goal is to rid the system of ammonia why aren't more people using this?

lots and lots of people are afreit of ozone the problem is they don't know how to control it if you keed it under control in the reactor and low readings ones the ozone get to the level disrier it will stay like that for cuple of days
the is some bioball you have to use and there is a way to make one but i really recoment you if you have the skills you can make one if not try by some one who can if not you will be in big troble

this is one area i stand alone i seems, cause i believe running O3 though your skimmer is not a good idea! a custom built aggitation vessile maybe, but not the skimmer. O3 will oxidise everything, including tubing, seals, motor bushes, u name it, it'll eat everything over time. and then the problem begins, cause honestly, skimmers aren't meant to be airtight! i dont know about you guy, skimmers are an investment at those prices, & im not going to shorten the life by choice!
