As I'm sure most of you are aware by now, Rob has recently had a major disaster in his tank and has lost most of his corals that he's been growing for several years. (See thread (http://www.talkingreef.com/forums/showthread.php?p=34499#post34499) and podcast (http://www.talkingreef.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2656))

Unfortunately, this is something that can happen to any of us, for various reasons.

Steve of Coral Dynamics has been so generous as to help me set up a Disaster Relief Fund for Rob. Steve will then add $50 to our donations to help get Rob started up again. If you find it in your heart and wallet to help out a friend in need, please do so with any amount that you find appropriate. Rob has been a priceless resource for all of the Talkingreef members and has donated enormous amounts of his own time and money to help all of us. Let's all pitch in and help him get his tank up and running again!

I am not sure why PayPal is a problem on the dialup connection. If you want to, you can use a Gift Certificate Purchase and just be sure to note on there that it is to be included in Robs Disaster Releif Fund.

We currently have 1010 members, if only for the fact that rob works so hard to contaminate the airwaves i dont see why we cant raise at least $10 from every member. its like giving 1hour of your life back for a dude thats given thousands.

i don't know if i am doing the right ting posting what rob is getting from me but he is a really cool guy i spoke to rob over the phone when i found out about his tragedy and i offer him one of my DIY calcium reactors i don't have to much cash to spend but i think the calc reactor will do really good to grow the new frags

me and rob talk about a diy calc reactor before all this happen and i think now he needs more i think is the least i can do for him after all he helps us all with the podcast

heard it on the podcast I had allot of changes in the last year long story but I am afraid money is really tight unless there is a big change Rob and I are lucky enough to live in a state with 14% unemployment bottom line right now I am part of the 14% just barely getting buy looking for pretty much anything at this point.. opps it's not about me sorry about that Rob you need and corals well you got it man coral conections I got.. Anyways, there is alot of very expensive things that need replaced. So every little bit helps!

Its all about helping out a mate. Im aware Rob doesn't exactly make a profit keep all you see here afloat. Bandwidth costs alone would give you 8ball headaches. Those of you that keep websites would be aware that donations offset some of the costs but in the end its still hitting your hip pocket. The donation bases here is out of compasion & respect for someone that taken the harder road & still manages to keep us afloat. Honestly guys im greatful for everyone thats donated something to the cause. Speaking from the heart from one Aussie to the rest of the world though, ive seen more moneys raised by a $2 hooker in asia than ive seen within this thread.
