Was wondering if you could discuss the pros and cons of using ozone in tanks. I have been doing a fair amount of reading on the subject and their seems to be two camps. The camps are those who have not used it and know nothing and those who use ozone and see great benifit from it.

Thanks,

John W.

well ozone is not as bad as alot of people make it out to be.
i do not use it, but have considered it and researched it.

first question is why do you think you need it?

most people choose this over UV for the extra filtration in a highly stocked tank, or they have an highly populated SPS and need the super low nutrient levels.

if you search the forum, there is a thread on this from not to long ago.

but i would be happy to go through some more explaination if you wish.. just let me know

Rob .. thanks for the reply. I think I want it for 2 reasons, one is the reported improvement in water clarity. Reading about it, everyone seems to agree that the water clarity drastically improves with Ozone. Two it that I do want to run a heave SPS tank and am in the process of connecting a 40Gallon breeder tanker to grow SPS's.

Will read the thread you mentioned and holler back.

Thanks again,

John

PS. Am running a 180AGA RR tank, with a 2-3" sandbed, 220lbs of LR.
