Hi I'm new to TR. Some people have asked for me to post some tank pics. I got my wife to e-mail me some at work. Not the best quality. Please excuse the mess around the tank as we have been packing. The tank has been established for a few years. I recently sold most of the soft corals I had and changed out some LR. I have collected a few SPS frags lately. The tank looks pretty bare. I'm not planning on adding anymore new frags until after the move.

Some of these are without the flash. That's why they look so dark.

thanks carmie, it's a work in progress. I was running a refugium up until a few months ago. I needed room for the calcium reactor I bought so I removed the fuge, and cranked up the skimmer. It really put a strain on the system. I had a tough couple weeks with water quality. I still have some diatoms from the bloom. Everything is stable now. I had a lot of xenia and softies in the tank before and they literally took over. I had a good 25 inches of growth in the xenia. I have never seen xenia grow like that. Most likely because I wasn't doing any heavy skimming and the fuge handled most of the bioload. It was everywhere. I traded most all of the old rocks covered in xenia for what I have in there now. Most all the SPS has only been in there a couple months. I am going to sell some of the fish. Too many tangs, and just too many fish in general. My wife and kids think they have to have 2 or 3 of their favorites. Thanks again for the comment. Your tank is awesome as well.

My wife and kids think they have to have 2 or 3 of their favorites. LOL, our 18 year old son is lobbying hard for a "he clown for the she clown" and everything my husband wants isn't reef compatible or will outgrow the tank is 2.3 minutes!

My wife has a fish only tank. She talked me into the Volitan Lion 3 years ago. I think the first night (at 2 in the morning) I watched it eat 3 damsels. I was tapping on the glass and trying to get him with a net. The next morning when she woke up I had our older tank that we had just replaced up and going with 1 lionfish in it. She always wants the big non reef compatible stuff. Her fav is the porcupine puffer. I have 3 kids and it's almost impossible to get out of the fish store without them begging. They all have their own fish with names. My son has the Sailfin Tang, My oldest daughter has the purple tang, my middle daughter has the 3 anthias, our next door neighbor(which is like our kid) had to have the mimic tang, my wife had to have the goby and the powder blue, and my fish is the Sohal. They all had to have Nemo and Marlin. LOL I'm gonna have to get a bigger tank. LOL:D
My friends in Salt Lake City have a 20 foot tank in their LFS. It is awesome. I'm gonna get some pics of it someday.

We just bought our 1st home and I'm stoked. The basement is mine and there is tons of room for a bigger tank, equipment room, frag tanks, breeding tanks. I can't wait. I have some really big plans. I hope to start a thread when I get to start on it.

There is some flaring at times. But most of the time they are all hanging out in a group. I haven't seen any knock down drag out fights. I don't like having that many.
Just because a fight is possible. I will probably move a couple of them to the FO tank. Just because I love tangs. They are my favorite.
