Thanks to the efforts of a few friends I was able to pick these Picasso Clowns up today at VI Pets in Grand Rapids MI. I was told these are the only 2 they got.

Those are very cool Shawn. Only a small percentage of a spawn from parents that throw Picassos will actually come out with that pattern.

Nice find. What did you have to pay, if I may ask?

They are still very young and I have them in a 20-gallon tank by themself. I feed them at least 3 times a day 3 0r 4 of the tiny pellets and them come to the front of the tank whenever I'm near.

I have a pair of breeding Clarki's w/ a blue strip that I'm going to sell out of my 150 to put these guys in there. I've been giving the Clarki eggs to a fellow reefer and he is starting to breed clowns so I asked him to make me a offer for them.

Wow! Those are amazing clowns! Beautiful! Please keep us updated on their development. I'd be really curious to see what their offspring would look like... that is if you end up breeding them. :) Er rather, if you decide to raise their fry... ya know what I mean. :)

Rob,

They are doing well i have 3 now and have moved the into my 150 upstairs. One is getting bigger than the other 2 and it looks like 2 of them are pairing up. The larger of the 3 is starting to getting its darker black bands.

They are a slow grower and I would think it will take a few years befor they starte to spawn.

I'll try to snap a few picture after the lights go on at noon today.

Shawn

If your ever on the west side of Michigan I would be willing to part with my extra one. Its the one on the left in the last picture. I'll let him go for what I paid $75. I'm not ready to start shipping yet.

Geez Shawn, I don't know who it was that played in that (those) game(s) but it sure wasn't the team(s) I'd watched all season. I'm glad the Wisconsin and Penn State came through for the Big Ten!

Are people working to propogate these patterns, or are really they just oddities that don't yet consistently pass on their abberant patterns?
I ask because when i was a kid, an albino cornsnake was rare, and now they have every pattern and morph imaginable. I wonder if any saltwater fish might eventually be bred in morphs like guppies...

Yes ORA (http://www.orafarm.com/) in florida is breeding these clowns for the pattern.
