yes, my hubby tested the tank & all tests were right on. we have another goni in the same tank that is doing great, full extension & good, green coloring. this new one we've only had since about the 15th or so.

i do not think its bleached..
it looks a bit light.. but not dangerous, as these come in many shades..

i would monitor for a bit..

Goniporas are extrmely difficult to keep for more than 6-9 months.. most expienced reefers fail to keep than longer than 12 months.

the early signs of loss is when it started to receed fromt he base of the skeloton.

again, i dont think yours is bleached and shold be ok for now... keep and eye on it, and keep the nutrient level high in the tank (latest research show that helps to keep them alive longer)

IMO it is bleached and seems that it was dyed which unfortunetly is done to some corals.

It may be dyed. But I dunno, time will tell. Some do actually come in a fluorescent green color. I do know that if you watch your water values and feed the tank regularly. you should see good growth and polyp extension. Skimming also seems to help these little buggers out too. Goniopora is a challenge but in my opinion, worth it when it works out!

I would encourage you to read this it will help you determine if your coral is dyed or not:

i defnitely keep the nutrient high in there. i have 1 other goni in the same tank. there's a pic of it in djgonzo's (my hubby) album. someone on reefcentral said it does look bleached & that all the zoox have died but that i could help them repopulate by dosing iron & manganese, also to put the goni in the shade. i'm so confused now!
