I am planning on getting a remora pro from a friend without the pump, are there any pumps you would suggest or stay away from. Also the pro usually comes with a pump of about 350gph, is it ok to go higher like 500 or 600 gph, would this make it more efficient or push the water through too quick?

u can try maxijet.. i have remora wt maxijet 1200 and very happy with the amount of skimming.. great choice of skimmer

I have the regular Remora that has the MJ1200. But I think you said yours is the Pro version. Most usually use a Mag3 pump on it.

i got a question.

my friend has a remora on his 40g and the skimmer is pretty loud. is there something i can do to lessen the noise?

Take a small piece of paper towel and wet it a little. Fold it up neatly to the same size as the opening above the spray injector of the skimmer. Lay it right on top of the input tube so that it acts as a cover. Then you can place the collection cup back on top. This will lessen the noise quite a bit.
