Oh i'm tired of looking around and not getting a definate answer. Should you put your skimmer on a timer? is there anything wrong with running it 24/7? granted i turn it off when i feed but other than that is it ok to run it non-stop.

You should run it all the time, provided you do the neccesary maintenance. Your system is producing waste 24/7 and you should get rid of that waste 24/7. Thats what any river, lake, or any current in the ocean will do.

Agreed...you should run a skimmer 24/7. The ONLY time I shut mine down is for maintenance or sometimes during feeding time.

yes, i agree with this also..
turning your skimmer off should be the exceptions.. dont only when adding certain additives, feeding (when appropriate) and cleaning.

and btw, if i haven't already mentioned it...
