Right now i have a 65watt PC fully loaded and i want to add another daylight bulb. Here is what im looking at right now

Does this sound like a good idea?

Should i go with something smaller than a 150w light with 10k

40 gallon tank 24inches high. coral dominate.

thanks in advance..

actually with a tank that size you might want to look at a 250w bulb or 2x 150
a 250w bulb is usually good for a 2'x2'x2' area a 150 will be less..

ok so since my tank has a cross support in the center it would probably work better if i went with two 150's?

do i have any other suggested options? or is MH best with PC's?

I'm saving my money for the LED lights. I really like that concept.

I am curious to hear about the LED systems as well. The hobby overall is so much different than it was ten years ago. There have been so many advances and it is nice to see inventors of these new types of systems looking to mimic natural reef settings as much as possible. Hopefully the LED systems turn out to be a useful alternative in lighting our tanks. I am really curious to hear Sanjay's report after MACNA this month.
