In my sump i plan on making a section to put frags for them to grow alittle or attach to something.. my question is i was thinking about using a 10watt 50/50 bulb inside of a chrome shop light ( or some people call them drop lights. the ones that look like a chrome bowl lol ). In my sump i will only have about 9 inches of water above the sand. would that light be enuff to help the corals along? or if anyone has any cheap ideas to a better light please let me know.

Also, should i run daylight and actinics seperate to create a cycle? Or would the 50/50 bulb be enuff for lighting needs?

thanks in advance..

a 50/50 bulbs should be fine in there..
being that you corals are mostly low light softies (from what i remember)
you should be fine with a small PC bulb
is 10w too small?? it might be.. i would see if you can easily acquire something a tad brighter..

what type and watt would you suggest for maybe an 8x10x10 space?
