montiporas are generally quite easy IME.
make sure they get good light, and decent current and it should do well

yes, attache them to a rock, they will encrust alot and they grow up and get top heavy, so mane sure its a stable large rock (not huge, but dont use ruble)

and when you mount it, glue its back to the rock, like lay it down flat, it will grow better that way

Just a thought. Keep your eyes open for the dreaded monti eating nudi's I recently got some from a swap. Luckily caught it in QT. Monti's are one of my favorites.

super glue gel is the best to use.
plain super (crazy) glue is too thin and does not work very well.

A great trick to get the coral to scroll is to glue a piece on to a rock and then place a second smaller piece in the center of the frag. The bottom will grow out, while the top tier will also follow suit. Montipora are extemely fast growers and can thrive under a variety of lighting conditions. Good luck

He meant to say, crazy glue is too thin and does not work very well.

hey B-maninc,

yes you can do this with different colonies. It makes for a Really stunning coral. The only problem is as the coral grows, the top may outcompete the bottom and the bottom actually will die off. This will take 3 years or so to happen, but could.

Once a Cap takes off, you can't get it to slow down.

Good Luck!
