Better late than never:

Congradulations Carmie and Wes!

BTW - they are not called bribes - they are "kick backs" - bribes sounds so crude. So what exactly did you need for your tank, Carmie?

Hey Carmie and Wes - you both aren't by any chance impartial to pictures with firefish in them, are you? just wondering if I should photoshop my images first?

Congrats Wes and Carmie!;)

Wes,

My girlfriend does not hate the idea of talking reef. She hates hearing the opening music to the podcasts(lol). Every time she hears it, she has this here we go again attitiude. :p Especially when she hears it 5 times in a day. I have been kind of addicted lately.

Wesley -

Does your girlfriend share your interest in reef keeping? The best thing I ever did was get my wife interested. Now she even has her own tank (that I take care of, of course). It's the least I can do with how much time and $ I spend on this hobby!

Reefbaby
08-31-2006, 03:57 AM
yeah, the other trick is to make them feel super useful. my husband thinks that I can't do the tanks on my own, because he's my technical support....I let him believe it! :)

Oh dear - are you saying that I'm the mouse in the maze, and it's actually my wife who's conducting the experiment?

wwest

i tried to get her interested but she wasnt interested, however its a blessing really. if she even knew how much i spend a week on equitment, food and corals.......i would be looking for a new girlfriend lol :) but she does love my clown, anemones, and scooter blenny. so i guess thats a start :)

My girlfriend loves our clowns and anenomes and everything actually. It always comes down to the amount of time spent away from her, so when she hears Rob on the computer, she just has to say something. I am trying to get her to participate more. I have even convinced her that she does water tests better than I as she is a chemist. Anything I can do to make her part of the process. She has been very supportive and has flipped the bill on some things here and there.

Gee, didn't you guys have hobbies before reefing? :D

wwest
08-31-2006, 10:12 PM
not really. i did alot more work around the farm thats about it lol

bubbletip

For me it was live music, electronics(mostly sound equipment), and photography. Animals have always been my hobby. Name just about any regularly seen pet and I have had one.
