I don't know where to post this, so I put it here....

Since a lot of people here use Skype, and you conduct your Podcasts in Skype, I was wondering if you ever thought about hosting a Skypecast at a certain time of the week so people could just join and you could answer questions and have a discussion that way?

1) It'd be easier than a chat-session (no typing)

2) The moderator can control who talks and who doesn't by "passing the microphone" so it's controlled.

3) Check you www.skype.com

Just a suggestion. Also, I think you mentioned in a podcast that you all meet at a certain time in the chat room? Does that still happen? If so, what time?

yes, this is something i have wanted to start for sometime, mentioned a few times on the forums.
problem i have had was lack of interest or participation.. or at least few people pipped in to say they were interested.

if people are interested in this, i am ALL FOR IT.. would love to do this..
this is truley one of my ultimate goals, to get to a real interactive brodcast... so if there is interest, lets go and get it off the ground.. :)

as for the chat nights, yes, those are every Saturday night at 9:00 PM Eastern.
i make it as often as i can, but they are usually run by Gwen

yes, i can take care of all the recording.
maybe we will try it.. would like to get a few more people interested, and we'll set something of for a trial run

We used to do a skype chat and that was a lot of fun. However, we got to the point where there were too many people in chat and some people would be left out. The thing about skype though is everyone needs a headset to eliminate echos.

If there is someone that pays for the skype upgrade that allows more people in a conference at one time, then that'd be great.

The chat room is always open if anyone ever needs a place to have a conversation. We meet every Saturday night at 9pm for now. Last Saturday we had a good crowd.

What I suggested was a "Skype-cast" (see their website) where you can host large groups. The website says 100.

i did a dry run on the chat with dial up, bounced off japan for the test, dial up is to slow, it sounds like im in a time warp! carzy town, 100yards up the road they have it! we cant because of the too far from the exchange BS excuse! tomato mad i tell ya! sorry guys, have to count me out! but go for it! i think we need a kick for listener involvement! perhaps it will motivate enough people to get involved with TR competions as well! we're not short on suggestions>just short on bodies!

darn Veriann.... perhaps we can call your house and get you in. I don't know about this skyecast stuff, but I know I can call in the US to a landline on skype and it's free, but I supposed that wouldn't be the case calling AU.

I read that Gizmo is offering free landline calls to a bunch of countries. If that included Australia maybe we could look into calling V with Gizmo and patch him into the Skype conversation...

Gizmo and Skype are not compatible with eachother, so you cant call one with the other.. but depending on how we do this, i might just use skype instead of the skypecast, but that is still yet to be seen.

What brand and model # of headset did you get and where did you purchase it?

well...I no longer have the packing, so I hope this helps...It's a Logitech.
The only number I can find on it is :A-0356A. It works great, but for some reason, when I was trying the echo123 lady the other night, it didn't work. ?? not sure why...

I just bought a Logitech "Internet Chat Headset". It is not as nice as my son's $50 headset but it only cost $12. I wouldn't want to use it to listen to music but for chats I think it is just fine.

mine is a logitech USB headset, i think the model is a 450

I'd be down for a skype cast. Although...i still think i sound like kermit the frog over radio :)
