Hello everyone, I decided to create my own Kalkwasser Dosing setup were I have converted a 1 gallon rubbermaid jug with the Kalkwasser mix and some flex tubing with a restrictor for dosing my aqaurium. My question follows how much drip should I allow. I'm currently dripping 1/4 of the gallon a day is that too much?

no, that should be fine...
start there...
get the drip going in the morning. then later than day/evening, measure your Ca and Alk. continue to do this for a few days. if you find that the 1/4 gallon is not Maintaining your levels, then adjust them back up, and increase the amount of kalk to 1/2 gallon, and so on.

Other then calcium and alkalinity will anyother level be effected by the dosing of Kalkwasser?

PH will be affected, but thats why you dose in the morning when PH is the lowest.

is it really dosing all day?
a 1/4 of a gallon, even at 1 drop a second will be gone in under an hour...

Maybe its even less then I thought. I really have to check but my thing is if th4e gallon dissapears in a day is that bad? I'm just trying to judge it.

it really depends on your tanksize, but 1 gallon can be siphoned unrestricted into a 75 gallon aquarium with little to no affect.. (using airline tubing)
so for your tank, using 1/4 gallon, unless you have a 20 gallon or smaler tank you should be just fine..

nope,
top left front is the edge of a SIEO,
top left back,is the edge of a Maxijet,
and the blue thing is a lettuce clip
