I tried to get a picture but they are way to small..

What i have is on all of my rock i have these little maroon spikes stick out with a red tip. i dont know any other way of descibing them lol does anyone have any ideas?

sounds like small fan worms.. watch them closely, do little wormy things come out?
also try creating a slight dust storm to see if there are little spider web things on the ends..

i have been watching them for sometime now. i havnt noticed anything coming out or them getting bigger or smaller. but ill keep my eye on them. my new light comes tomorrow so maybe i can see them under lunar.. thanks rob

try poking it gently and see if you see it retract.

could it be dead sponges?....aren't some of them shaped like that and get hard when they are dead?.....they are all over my LR

alittle info my tank is about 4 months old maybe 5 i cant remember. whatever they are i beleave that they are dead. i poked them with a stick :-) and nothing happened. im going to get a friends close up camera this weekend and will post a picture.. :-)

well that eliminates any type of worm at least. hehe.
