here is a frag tank question. the local LFS has a frag tank and he uses iodine in the tank. but he says he wouldnt suggest it, that it can make a mess out of the tank. does anyone know the ramification of using iodine in a frag tank?

iodine is one of those touchy supplements.
in the right about its very helpful, but if you overdose it, it can be very disastrous.
too much iodine can affect different corals in different ways, but just as an example, you can melt away a xenia from just a small over dose..

i recommend that you maintain iodine with water changes, or if you are experienced enough you can use test kits and supplements, just be cautious
