yea, they are blue plastic...actually, they kinda look like cheato all balled up....real open weave

i could take the pad and put it in my 110, as way to tranfer the pods

i don't know just how non-toxic or saltwater-proof those pads are. i use coase filter sponges because that is what a commercial tigger pod farm in my area use. i was told they found the sponges to work extremely well because it provides really deep pores that allow them to be active and breed fast because of no light penetration.

oh okay, i think i know which ones you are talking about....they are blue, right?

so, will the rest of my plan work?.....pods are multiplying like crazy in there, right now....i would love to keep that going...and increase it even more

no, not blue pads, but rather foam blocks. i use the ones made for HAGEN AquaClear 110 power filters.

don't forget to get extras. you'll use them. imagine a sponge full of pods in the quarantine tank with a blenny, anthias, or dragonet. have one of those sponges ready to go at anytime. friends starting a new tank will be kicking down your door.

Use a phyto with a larger micron size and yes, pulverized flake food. The flake food can make a real mess if you over do it. The phyto actually creates a sort of "filtering" as it takes up the nutrients in the tank. I use this method in my seahorse fry tanks and they are BOOMING with pods.

Can there be such a thing as too many pods? I only started my nano going about a month and a half ago, self cured my LR, got LS about 2 weeks ago and last week they started showing up, this week it's starting to get had to see thru the glass LMAO.

the pods can only multiply according to the food source available, so either something else is going on, or you just don't have anything eating the pods. pod populations will always plateau out in a balanced tank.
