okay, i ordered the vortech 3 weeks ago....in the mean-time, i have using a big pump just to keep my water moving (about 1600gph)

i ordered the vortech for few reasons....no added heat, electric, or hardware in the display....and the electric it would pull was nothing compared to other pumps i was looking at.....

anyways, it was supposed to go out today, but is now on hold until the 9th.....so, do i wait?.... is there something out there that is comparable, at a comparable price?...help?

maxi jets are cheap with ok flow.

if i used maxi jets, it would be a minimum of 6 powerheads in my tank & that is one of the things i am trying to avoid

dreams, make sure the tunzes are actually is stock. tunze is FAMOUS for back-orders that can last for an eternity. Seios are good bang for the buck.

well, personally i would have done 2 things first,

i would have given the fish a straw hat, a loud shirt, & a big sea fan and made them earn their keep.
or just give them big flippers for their fins so they can create bigger wave as they swim...hehe

if anyone asks me what i was thinking, i ussually reply with "spandex"

spandex is good for the little speedo briefs for the fish, but for the hats, you gotta go gor-tex.

Once I get a bigger tank then I will have the Tunzes, but that may be a few years. Thanks for letting me in on the deals!

no problem. i'll be happy to help out any TR member if i can. i'm fortunate enough to live where many people consider to be the reef mecca of the U.S. and have a lfs owner who lives for his love of the hobby.

I can't complain living in the ATL area, although we don't have the cherry picking options you have, we do have great LFS's, the big aquarium, and an awesome reef club.
