I have tried to get pics of these tiny anemone looking things for a long time. But they are so small they never are in focus. Today I moved the curtain and the sun lit up the rock that they are on and I took a couple good pics. I noticed them on the first day I set up my tank a year ago. I thought they were aptasia at first but they have never grown any bigger. The one in the center of the pic is no bigger than 1/8". They have a white foot about the same size as their body and do move. I've seen one on the back of a hermit before. They dont seem to hurt anything but I started with 3 and now there is about a dozen. Should I be worried?

I think it is a mojano (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=ZXd&resnum=0&q=majano+anemone&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=cX5kS8PlE420tgfMsKGvBg&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CBAQsAQwAA). (Check out the pix in the link.) They are considered a pest anemone but do not reach the plague portions of aiptasia.

I want to put the green tree on the top of that rock. But before I do, I want them off. where they are so small, injection is out of the question. Is there any 1 time miracle cures out there or am I in for a battle?
Thanks by the way

I heard pouring vinegar over the rock will kill them off, then place it in a bucket of salt water with a current blowing over it to rinse the rock. I didnt use that method instead I bought a copper band butterfly but it never aquired a taste for them. I used the Aipstasia-X instead when they got out of hand. And it worked fine. None of the fish got sick from it the last time I used it. Now I have no aipstatia to worry about. Although, The first time I tried it. One of my fish had a swollen fin for a day or two but it went away. Im not sure if it was caused from the injection or bad water conditions...

No miracle cures that I know of. I have used Joe's Juice with success, even on small anemones. I get mine from TR sponsor The Cultured Reef, talkingreef (http://theculturedreef.com/talkingreef.htm). You don't have to actually inject it, you just feed it to them or put it on top of them.

They appear to be the Majano anemone, considered a pest because of their prolific nature and they may sting some corals. Most people want to eliminate them from their systems and I concur with that attitude toward them.

I have used Joe’s Juice successfully and recommend it. Joe’s Juice is very easy to use. As Carmie said, you just feed it to them and they die without hurting your corals or fish.

Carmie posted the link to our new TRFMD (Talking Reef Forum Member Discount) (http://theculturedreef.com/talkingreef.htm) page. Scroll down till you find Joe’s Juice and the pricing. Thanks for the link Carmie.

It only takes a little bit. I get the tip of the dispenser close to the anemone and then gently depress the plunger so a couple drops at a time come out.

It is a liquid. IDK if freezing would hurt it or not. I would give Dick a call up on his toll free line and ask him. He's been doing this a long time and will know.

Freezing would have no effect on it’s potency. Got your order, thank you. It’s packed up and ready to go. It will ship via US Postal tomorrow.

Thanks Dick. I was just about to PM you about that. My only other question was if there was an experation on it once opened.

No expiration. Once opened and not used it may dry out. I just add a few drops of RO/DI water. Cap it tightly.

WOW! Joe's Juice works and fast. I put it on one of them and watched it for a couple minutes. Call me crazy but I think it exploded. There was a tuft of "smoke" that came out of it's hole. So I went and got the rest of them little buggers.
