Question Lta Ok?

I have recently purchased an anemone that at the LFS was noted as long tentacle anemone. I'm not sure if it is bcuz of its colors. It has a red foot, very light blue tentacles with white on the ends and bases of the tentacles, and the "disc" that the tentacles connect to and where the mouth is located is white. I knew it was stressed as the LFS does not keep their livestock under optimal conditions(High NO3's and low-lights > ) Just wondering what everyone thinks of this guy. I just want some ideas on what it is. Thanks ahead of time.

*nodding* (Macrodactyla Doreensis). My only concern would be that it seems as if you are using a coarse substrate. These anemone thrive is soft, fine sand and muddy substrates. Their foot, in a perfect world, would be burried deep in the substrate. When threatened, it may even retract most of its body into said substrate.

In any case, your anemone looks like a healthy specimen. It has strong, evenly developed tentacles, a robust and damage free foot, and would do well if in the proper system.

Do yourself a favor and "google" Macrodactyla Doreensis. Better yet, visit Wet Web Media and search their site. They've got TONS of information on anemone. This is where I started my research before getting a bubble tip a couple years ago.

They do need proper water quality and are typically found in less than DEEP water. Keep that in mind. I'm not sure what kind of system you have it in now.
