Just Arrived

I just ordered an bta and it just arrived. I am a little worried because there is a stuff floating in the bag and the bta does not look very good. Is it still alive and should I put it in the aquarium? This is my first time having a bta and I might need a little guidance. I have done a bunch of research. Should I try and feed it when I first put it in the tank or should I wait until tomorrow?
THanks

What kind of stuff floating around?

I would recommend acclimating it very well and sticking it in the tank. One thing about anemones is they can look really bad and then there back to normal. I would stick it in the tank and let it settle for a few hours and then try feeding it a little. IMO anyways.

White stuff kinda like snot?

Its probably just expelled waste. When they poop thats what it looks like. Nothing to worry about.

I am sorry to keep bothering everyone. I do have a question...Do hermit crabs eat anemones? I just put one in my tank and I cant tell if the crab has a hold of the bta or if the bta has ahold of the hermit crab. I hope they are ok together.
THanks

they should be fine together. the crab is probably just eating the waste off of the anemone.

Thank you so much! That is what I was thinking, but wanted to make sure. The anemone found a great spot in come live rock, and looks really cool. Now my next question...When would it be ok for to to add a tom. clown. I was thinking in a few day. I also think one of my humbug damels is going to host in it. Is that possibe?
THanks

well it IS possible, clownfish are actually a member of the Damselfish family, but it is not very likely. i would give the anemone a couple of weeks minimum to settle in to the new tank before adding a clown for it.

Happy 4th!!!
THe anemone i got yesterday seemed to be doing fine, but over night it went under some live rock where it is impossible to see and feed. I am not sure what to do from this point. Should I move it, or should I wait a few days and see if it will come out on its own? Please help!!!

wait a few days, it is probably acclimating itself to your tank.

It is too late to suggest that you should QT the anemone but I would not add anything to my DT without keeping it in QT. Check out this article in Reefreaders - Quarantine Now!.

I followed the directions that it came with. Float the bag then pour a shot glass of water in the bag until it is full.
