Same here Carmie. Mine has several of those and then the part falls off. I really worried at first, thinking something was wrong. Now I wish mine would hurry up and split, he is huge!
My GBTA used to do this as well, close to the oral cavity, just before it began splitting.
I've also seen tentacles get "sluggish" when my false percs used to "mouth" them. Yep.. for some crazy reason, the clowns would pull and tease the anemone.
Rob...you make them too happy to want to split Feed the heck out of them until their busting at the seams...and if that doesn't work... ask Anthony Calfo how to split them... Muahhh haa haa.... scalpel sir!!!
lol.. i have tried the feeding the heck out of them method, no luck, and i dont have the nerve to take a scalpel to them..
my green one maybe, but i have had my rose for years, its the one creature that has lived through everyone one of my tanks, moves, mistakes, treatments, including the most recent one.. right now, i just want it happy the way it is..

Mine looked large and fine last night. Tonight it looks like I have never seen it look. The oral disk is HUGE and it just looks weird. I swear it will split anytime. It has dropped all the tentacles except the edge one line you mentioned David.
Well, mine is certainly huge, nearly as large as a dinner plate and it has grown new tentacles over the last couple of months. Also, tonight the one tentacle is back to normal and the other is nearly normal.
A dinner plate?!? I NEVER had a BTA get that big for me..they always split first. I'd love a centerpiece like that!!
If you are interested in splitting, there are some that say that you can encourage them to do so with frequent water changes, after they get to a certain size.
