QT Salinity

I heard on a podcast a couple months ago Rob mention lowering the salinity in a QT tank to help lower stress. Anyone remember how low or what is recommeded for a QT salinity?

I dont think there is any hard evidence that lower SG in QT is less stressful on a fish.

With that being said, bringing the SG outside those found in nature (1.023- 1.026) must be done slowly and carefully. Unless the fish are showing signs of ICH and you want to attempt hyposalinity, I personally would just stick with normal SG.

I don't remember that from a podcast but here is an article on hypo-salinity. Advanced Aquarist's Online Magazine - Aquarium Fish: Applications for Hyposalinity Therapy: The Benefits of Salinity Manipulation for Marine Fish
