salifert strontium test

Hello fellow hobbists, I have a problem and I would like you to help me:
Whenever I try to mesure strontium levels in my reef tank, the salifert test results like if it were -40ppm......in fact zero indication, is past and I keep dropping the test sollution until the water tested turns to blue, at 0,83 level of the syringe.
I dose strondium daylly with KENT turbo strontium and I am frustrated with the effort!!Anyone having the same problem?

No, haven't ever tested for strontium in all the years (40) of keeping SW aquariums. Doing regular water changes should keep your strontium at proper levels. Just because a manufacturer has a product on the market doesn't mean you have to dose it. Strontium is found in minute amounts in NSW and is not required to dose if you are doing water changes. It's possible your Strontium level is so high the test kit goes berserk.

I would stop dosing and let it settle for a few weeks and test again. I, personally, would not dose it.

sounds like replacing the RO is the next step, or at least the membrane
