rising ammonia despite water change

my nitrites are at 0 and nitrates are falling but my ammonia went up a little depsite a water change earlier today. what gives? could low alk cause this? ph is stable though

no worries bud, just hold tight and give it more time, normal i would say NO WATER CHAGES, but because you started with tap water, you should be working to change it out. just keep monitoring it, dont add any type of food or anything to it.

just leave the tank in the corner with the lights off (if you want) and just test and change the water.

if everything is setup right it will balance out on its own
by this i mean, if you have enough LR, LS, current, filtration, etc..

well i have 240lbs of rock and 250lbs of sand a skimmer rated for 220 gal a 18watt uv a fluval 405 canister (rarely on... used to clean... damn nitates) for current i have 4 seio 1100's and a mj 1200 in the tank its a 125 gal
