Long Over Due For An Update

I have been sadly lacking in updating my tank journal here on TR. A lot has happened since my last efforts to update. So this will be an update to my update! I have been plagued with the every day to day common responsibilities, 2 major illnesses so far this year, lightning striking my home, my first grand baby on the way, and now a hand injury. My life is never dull and without constant challenges. My 90 is doing nicely and I am well pleased with my current water readings. They are as follows:

Amonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 5
Phos - 0
Cal - 460
PH - 8.0
SG - 1.024

Some who may be just viewing this post for this particular system and have not been keeping up with my journal, may feel that the nitrates should be zero. But given the history of my system, from where I was and where I am now, will be quite pleased for me. It has taken months to slowly bring them down and keep them there. "Remember nothing happens fast in a reef tank except disaster!" I continue to do a 30 gallon water change about every 10-12 days or so (total system volume 145g) with NSW, gently shaken, never stirred. J/K I run the two #3 Koralias on an alternate cycle as I do not want too much current disturbing the 2 anemones that reside in my tank. Both are growing well and one is now the size of a dinner plate, so there is concern with them staying well content. I am still dosing with the 2 part Ocean's Blend additive and feel that it has played a major role in stabalizing my PH and bringing my calcium up to a more acceptable level.

Since my last update, my lighting system replacement came back. I changed the MH bulbs out and replaced them with Reeflux bulbs. I am currently running the actinics when I am at work and then crank up the MH when I get home and they stay on until I go to bed around 11:30 or so. I am currently doing a 1-2 gallon top off every morning before I leave for work. My concern about the rising temperature during the hot summer months has been resolved by my present lighting cycle.

I have been wanting to post some pics for quite some time, but ran into a major delima with the docking bay and software program I had been using in the past, due to the lightening affecting my computer. I had to replace an eithernet card in my system, along with a modem. The software refused to work properly so I tried to reinstall it w/o success due to advanced software on the system. It was now obsolete. My daughter gave me a new Sony Cyber Shot for Christmas that I had tucked away, so now I am trying to "acclimate" myself to a new camera with far too many options.

The photos that follows are just a small portion of shots that I have taken over a few days. There was a total of 123 in all. There were just a very few that I was really pleased with, considering my "vast experience and expertise" with taking pictures. So bear with me through this pictoral journey.
