I've never tried Miracle Mud but, I'm in the process of setting up a 135 gal reef using Walt Smith's product, Fiji Mud, in the
sump/refugium. I assume they are similar products. It's too early to report anything yet. The system is nearing the end of the initial cycling event. Here's a link to Walt Smith's product -
