| Coral Banded Shrimp are very popular and readily available. I've had them go "bad" often enough to swear off them for ever. As far as capturing yours, you have to be creative with your trap. I took a two liter pop bottle cut the top off, slight it from the mouth to the shoulder, glued it back on in reverse, put some gravel in it to weight it down, primed it with a piece of shrimp and put it in the tank just before lights out. In the morning, before lights came on, he was there outside the bottle. I removed the trap until late that night and repeated the procedure. I did not feed the tank while doing this. On the third morning I had my CBS in the bottle. One of the keys is to not feed the tank. Your other critters will be fine for a few days. The shrimp needs to be hungry.
There is a shy alternative to the CBS and that is the Yellow CBS. Much smaller, very shy and peaceful.
Good luck in catching him.
