No on the Mountain Brauhaus, but it sounds like a riot. Our family was always travelling from Rochester to Highland Falls via Binghamton (stopping at my father's favorite Greek diner-on-steroids called "The Spot"), so we never made it as far north as New Paltz. I did have one friend who taught Art at SUNY New Paltz, and another that recently finished graduate studies in Sculpture at Bard college near Kingston.
My Italian Grandmother always kept us well fed (of course), so we rarely went into Highland Falls proper except to help run errands, go to church on Sunday, or to buy balsa wood gliders or more
bb's. Sometimes we would go to the West Point Museum.
It was great to wake up on beautiful autumn days to the distant sound of trains and tug boats on the Hudson. I think I'm gonna cry...
