| I don't have any recent experience with the current crop of auto feeders. I have tried them in the past and found them to reliably operate at their pre-set intervals. The problem comes in to play when the "food" absorbs moisture and doesn't "drop" properly. From that point on, until emptied and cleaned, it fails to perform as desired. I don't know if this issue of performance has been corrected. I tend to think, not.
I also think the lack of responses to your question from our diverse members suggests no one has found a reliable auto feeder over the long haul. A 5 day vacation is not long and perhaps any well built feeder would suffice for that long. It's usually longer periods of time that the problem exists.
Make a decision on a model, buy and use it for that time period. Then give us a report as to it's reliability. That's one function of a forum, to report good and bad performance of equipment. I know I for one would appreciate reading your report.
Thank you in advance,
Dick
