Refugium setup for Pods

Hey guys, my tank has been running for around 3 months now and I wanted to add a supply of pods to my refugium. The tank is a 65 gallon with a 20g sump that has a small refugium area (about 10"x10"x10"). Since the area is soo small I didn't put any sand or LR in there, just chaeto. My question is will the chaeto provide sufficient refuge for the pods, or should I add some LR for the pods to hide in?
