Keep It Simple Stupid!
Just got a good reminder of this old adage yesterday. I decided to replumb my tank yestarday in order to incorporate a chiller, to simplify some convoluted plumbing, and to correct some
mistakes i made when I first set the tank up.
I now have a single return pump powering everything (return, chiller, UV, Phosban reactors), and my drain has been split to gravity feed my
skimmer. I went from 5 pumps in the
sump to one. the irony of the situation is, after i removed all those pumps, the tank never got
hot enough to trip the chiller
. Ah well, I'm sure with summer coming, it will.
Anyway, just a good object lesson in why less is more sometimes.
