Wow, that figures out to over 400 gals. That is a big aquarium. a 1000w titanium heater would probably do the trick but, I think for safety reasons I'd opt for two 500w titanium heaters. First, a 1000w heater could soften, melt or even crack things it got to close to. Second, if it failed you would have no heat until you noticed it had failed. With 2 heaters you lesson the chance of cooking things and if one failed the other would provide some heat until you replaced the broken one.
The down side is the cost would double. But, anybody setting up a 400+ gal aquarium isn't going to worry about the cost of an extra heater, right?
I have a Titanium heater and think they are the way to go.
