Ricky, believe it or not this is not a bad outbreak! Algae will also take up
nitrates so that may be why they are also low. The cheato will grow and take up nutrients. I have both it and caulerpa. I think macros grow and absorb nutrients faster right after they have been pruned so don't be afraid to cut it back.
