ImRandy85 - per the sand bed calc on RC, you would need about 40# of sand. my experience with this calc says that it's pretty accurate to the typical live sand you see at the
LFS.
as far as clean up crew, may I also suggest the nerite snails. they're tiny and perfect for a small tank like the one you're thinking of. as long as you don't mind the little white eggs they lay.
