| Laura, Magnets are wonderful. You can use smaller sizes and glue them to acrylic disks and other media and use a second on the outside of the tank or overflow wall. Eventually, the corals and such will encrust on the glass, and you can take out the outside magnet. The one inside is inert and won't cause problems.
Until they do encrust, you can move them around until you are sure you have them where you want them.
